Dr. John Siburt is a respected community leader, social entrepreneur, and advocate for the poor, who serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of CitySquare. CitySquare is a dynamic faith-based nonprofit in Dallas, Texas, dedicated to fighting the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship. John is a third-generation minister who spent fifteen years in congregational ministry including nearly ten years as the preaching minister at the Richardson East Church of Christ.
John’s father, Dr. Charles Siburt, was a respected churchman who committed his personal and professional life to understanding the complex needs of congregations struggling with communication, conflict resolution, administration, and leadership training. He was a beloved mentor and father figure to countless numbers of students at Abilene Christian University, providing encouragement and counsel long after they transitioned into ministry.
John is honored to carry on his father’s ministry of encouragement and equipping to churches and ministers that are seeking to improve congregational health, increase leadership development, and maximize impact to the community. He is an alumnus of Abilene Christian University where he earned three degrees (B.A., M.Div. and D.Min.). In 2012, he earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership offered jointly by the Center for Nonprofit Management and Southern Methodist University.
John and his wife, Sarah, reside in Garland, Texas, with their two children, Katie and David. They enjoy music, laughter, dining out, beach vacations, and cheering on the Texas Rangers baseball team.
